Middlesbrough Libraries are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible individual with a love of books to join the team at Grove Hill and Easterside Community Hubs, which are home to a wide variety of services and organisations.
You will be working on the general hub reception, so you must have excellent communication skills as you will be the first person that people will engage with, when they visit the Hub, so you must be friendly, approachable and love working with people of all ages.
You must be passionate about promoting reading for pleasure and the benefits of reading for the whole family, taking a proactive approach to help reluctant readers or those who want to improve their literacy skills.
In addition to your library duties, of issuing and receipting books, helping customers with enquiries and supporting customers to use our public computers, you will be supporting activities and services within the Hub. This will include booking appointments, organising room hire and supporting other organisations who work in the Hub.
You will need good IT and digital skills, enjoy working as part of a team, yet still able to use own initiative and be able to use our resources in order to answer the wide range of enquiries we receive.
This role includes evening and weekend working, and the requirement to work at any Community Hub and Library in Middlesbrough as requested.
