The role
To help us recruit social workers who are committed to working in Middlesbrough we are currently offering a 10% supplement to social work salaries. This additional 10% will be reviewed at the end of March 2027.
We have an exciting role on offer within the Access and Safeguarding service as a Social Worker.

Do you have the passion to support people living with diverse needs including (but not limited to) autism, physical disabilities, learning difficulties, and educational needs, people with acquired brain injuries and people who experience addiction and significant trauma?
If so, this job could be for you!
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working at the ‘front door of Adult Social Care’ responding to initial enquiries to Adult Social Care and gathering information, signposting people and professional partners if Adult Social Care is not the appropriate resource. You will be using a conversational approach and prompting strength-based support.
It will be fast paced work with decisions being made within a 72hr period as to whether a person referred is transferred onto the appropriate resource or the enquiry closed.
Within the Adult Access and Advice Team, you will be working collaboratively with partner agencies, including South Tees NHS Foundation Trust, Tees Esk and Wear Valley NHS Trust and Accessing Change Together (ACT) Middlesbrough, amongst many others including the Voluntary and Private Sector, whilst working to achieve the best outcomes for our Community.
This will be an office-based position at Fountain Court, Middlesbrough.

We expect our experienced Social Workers to hold BIA (Grade K and L), Practice Educator or AMHP (Grade L) qualifications as outlined in our progression criteria.
